Live Your Dreams Discussion

29 Aug

After reading this book one question really got stuck in my head! The question is:

“What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?”

I would love to know what your answer to this question would be.

P.S Remember that failure is a state of mind! If you want to change failure to success, then you must change your actions to ones that will yield the results you want. For example a young high school student didn’t want to fail his high school year therefore he changed his actions to produce the results he wanted.

Where Your Reviews At?

My review of  Live Your Dreams by Les Brown

Overall it was a really good book, very easy to read and it was written in a way that most people would understand. I particularly found the exercises at the back extremely useful, I learned a lot of things about myself I didn’t even know and I would definitely recommend this book to a friend.

Here’s what I learned from this book

  1. Live Your Dreams regardless of your circumstances
  2. Let the past go and MOVE ON!
  3. Develop the conviction that you can accomplish your goal. Your level of believe in yourself will inevitably manifest itself in what you do
  4. Persevere through the hard times remember that no weapons formed against you shall prosper
  5. Stay ready!! “it is better to be prepared for an opportunity and not have one, than to have an opportunity and not be prepared”
  6. Who cares what they say about you? “Someone’s opinion of you doesn’t have to become your reality”
  7. Set Goals- Know what you want and set goals and DON’T GIVE UP UNTIL YOU ACHIEVE THEM.
  8. Face  your fears
  9. No more excuses- just do it!
  10. Know that “IT IS POSSIBLE”

I would love to know what you thought about the book! Start posting your reviews :D

Have a wonderful day

This grandfather of all people-skills books was first published in 1937 and sold an amazing 15 million copies. According to Dale Carnegie financial success is 15 % professional knowledge and 85 % “the ability to express ideas, to assume leadership and to arouse enthusiasm among people.” Dale Carnegie is known for teaching valuable skills such building greater self-confidence, strengthening people skills, improving communication skills and developing leadership skills. This book is as useful today as it was when it was first published after all I’m sure we all want to know the secret on how to win friends and influence people!

Carnegie focuses on fundamental techniques for handling people without making them feel manipulated. Carnegie states that you can make someone want to do what you want them to do by seeing the situation from the other person’s point of view and “arousing in the other person an eager want.” In this book you’ll learn how to make people like you, win people over to your way of thinking, and change people without causing offence or arousing resentment. For example “let the other person feel that the idea is his or hers” and “talk about your own mistakes before criticizing the other person.”

I Hope you enjoy this book… and don’t forget to add your book review, comments or questions on my blog at the end of the month.

Have a wonderful day

Book Club Update

26 Aug

Hello book Club Family! I’ve been gone for a while! But I’m back :D
How’s everyone doing? Is everyone living their dreams? I hope you are, because I am.

Let’s get to the point – have you read the book? ( I hope your answer is “Yes”) lol

Well tomorrow FRIDAY 27TH OF AUGUST I will pick another book and on SATURDAY 28TH OF AUGUST I will post my review of “Live Your Dreams” by Les Brown. I also will do a discussion topic on the Facebook page and you are more than free to join and provide your views and opinions.

I would like you to post your review of the book on my blog and the discussion will take place on the “Lili’s Book Club” Facebook page.

If you haven’t finished reading the book don’t panic, I do understand that we all have other commitments, but do make an effort to finish the book! You’ll won’t regret it I promise.

This is it for today guys, I hope everyone is doing great and I also hope that you are taking actions everyday that move you towards your goals! Les Brown said:

“No one else is going to produce your products, write your book, open your academy. And if you don’t bring your gift forward, if you die with it still inside of you, then we all suffer from being deprived of your genius”

This means that if you have a dream go for it as if your life depends on it, because it does, don’t wait for someone to do it for you, don’t wait for the right circumstances!!! Go for it NOW! Not Tomorrow, Not next week, Not later on! No more excuses…Your Time is NOW!

Have a Fabulous Day
